Save the date!

Okay, so I'm back from my sabattical rest of blogging with some great ideas for save-the-dates. My co-worker told me about this website www.magnetstreetwedding.com, and they had the cutest save-the-date magnets I have ever seen at really good prices. I chose to have save-the-date magnets versus save-the-date cards because we all know where cards go after their opened...in the trash. Maybe not on purpose, but they certainly end up out sight and of mind at some pointe. Magnets are great way to have guests remember our upcoming nuptials without all the hassle. Check out some of my favorite choices below

Classic Hairdos

Ok here's the story on my hair. I've gone back and forth from relaxed and straight to a curly afro for many years. Finally, I learned to embrace my curly q's a year and a half ago. For the big day, I figure I can have my hair flat ironed and styled into this beautiful classic hairstyle worn by Tyra Banks at the Emmy Awards.

I totally enjoyed 'shopping' around for wedding invitations. There are so many styles to choose from based on what type of bride you are. For example a Sophisticated Bride may be interested in the following invitations...

Photography

On my quest to find a wedding photographer, I kept all the important factors in mind such as their portfolio, their photography style and of course their pricing. Thank God for the Internet, I did most of my research on it and was easily terrified to find most of the photographers I was interested in started at $2,000.00.

Thankfully, I found Dimagery Photography and met with Rhonda and was very satisfied with her previous work and noticed her sincere passion for wedding photography. What sealed the deal? On top of her very professional demeanor, her base pricing was only $900.00!! This includes 5 hours of coverage the wedding photo album, over 300 photos, and two photographers for wedding ceremony and reception coverage.

Wedding Colors

Ok, so I thought long & hard about a color palette for the wedding ceremony and reception.

Terence & I finally settled on ... Antique Gold, Blackberry & Ivory.

I know these sound like a Winter wedding color scheme but I really love how the blackberry and gold look against the ivory base color so there you have it.

I am sooo loving this dress. It's simple, elegant and priced very reasonably at $318.00. Did I also say shipping is free!?! Now if I can just drop 30 or so pounds by March I'll be good to go.
